The lively Saint Innocent winter fair takes over the centre of Limoges every year in a tradition dating back more than four centuries, to 1566, when the town was granted a market licence by Charles IX.

The streets are lined with stallholders who sell delicious Limousin food products like sausages and pâté, as well as wine, clothes and other specialities from elsewhere in France.
