How many of us sometimes wish that we could just chuck our mobile phone away? Well now you can, at the UK Mobile Phone Throwing Championships, held at the Old Hamptonians Rugby Club, and it's all in aid of charity.

This little-known sport has been taking place in Finland since the turn of the millennium. Competitors are encouraged to bring any old mobiles they may have to be recycled. The phones that competitors actually throw are provided on the night.
It is estimated that 75 million mobile phones are languishing in cupboards and drawers across the UK. Placed end-to-end, these would stretch the entire length of the Great Wall of China almost five times over. These phones can either be recycled for their materials or donated to poorer countries.
The entry fee includes three throws. Competitors must be over 18.
