Nyon's Paleo Festival is one of Switzerland's best-kept secrets. One of the friendliest events around, it welcomes more than 40,000 visitors each night to its beautiful fields with their view of Lake Geneva and the Alps.

The event takes place just 25km (14 miles) from Geneva. Highlights of the 2008 line-up include Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals, The Hives, Mika, Manu Chao, Massive Attack and R.E.M..
A crèche and play areas appeal to families, while campers have showers, free firewood and a campsite built on a grid system to avoid those lost-tent moments.
