It's frustrating not being able to satisfy your curiosity about the most beautiful green spaces in Paris just because your French is a bit rusty (or non-existent). These guided tours allow English-speaking visitors to deepen their knowledge.

Most of the main parks in Paris have guided tours, with some of the best including:

The famous Pere-Lachaise cemetery in the 20th arrondissement, created by Napoleon Bonaparte. In the shade of some 4000 trees, you can explore the graveyard and seek out its famous residents, including Chopin, Balzac, Modligliani, Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf and Jim Morrison. The meeting point is at the main entrance on the Boulevard de Menilmontant.

The innovative Andre-Citroen Park in the 15th arrondissement beside the Seine, the visionary creation of world-famous landscape designers Gilles Clement and Alain Provost. The tour winds around the garden's green expanses, from vast glasshouses to refreshing fountains and "wild" gardens.

The Parc de Bercy in the 12th arrondissement, overlooking the Seine and the huge Bibliotheque de Paris. A former wine market and warehouse turned into a beautiful park, a wander takes you along the smooth lawn to the spectacular rose garden, orchard and romantic garden, then to the canal bordered by wisteria-clad pergolas.
