The festival creates an energy that electrifies the resort for ten incredible days and is made up of a number of individual events. Highlights include the World Snowboarding Open, featuring the world's best snowboarders competing for the largest snowboarding prize in North America, a Superpipe and Slopestyle competition and a Big Air jump-off.
The World Skiing Invitational brings together the world's most talented (and fearless) free skiers, who perform misty flips, 1440º spins and other incredible feats. The Atomic Skiercross pits four skiers hurtling side-by-side down a course filled with banks, jumps and turns, with the winner being the first to cross the finish line.
The festival also features a full programme of bands to entertain the après crowd in the late afternoon on an outdoor stage at the base of the magnificant Whistler and Blackcomb mountains. The entertainment continues into the small hours of the morning in Whistler's many nightclubs.
Add to this the endless beauty of the Canadian Rockies, some of the finest skiing conditions in the world and state-of-the-art facilities and you're looking at the chance to have some really serious fun in the snow.
