The Goan version of Epiphany features lush costumes and fireworks, and the arrival of the Magi each January is celebrated noisily in the region's many Christian churches.

Traditionally, this feast day is celebrated in Goa with the three wise men arriving at the local church on white horses bearing their fragrant gifts. They are suitably adorned in technicolour costumes and encouraged by the shouts and pyrotechnics of the faithful.

Celebrations are particularly extravagant at the Church of Our Lady of the Mount in Old Goa, the church of Reis Magos (where there is is a big fair), Cansaulim and the church in the village of Chandor.
