The annual Amsterdam Canal Festival, the Grachtenfestival, offers classical music concerts along two of the city's main canals. Nine days of indoor and outdoor performances culminate with the Prinsengracht concert, held on a floating stage in front of Hotel Pulitzer.

More than 70 concerts are held at around 20 different locations, with soloists from the Opera Studio Nederland joining a range of national and international talent. After the Prinsengracht concert, the festival's biggest highlight is a series of free performances given in the gardens and homes and on the roof terraces of canalside residents.
The event also incorporates the Children's Grachtenfestival, featuring concerts and shows for toddlers and youngsters.
