On the second Sunday of every month, the Piazza della Repubblica north of Turin's centre hosts the Gran Balon market, with antique dealers from far and wide. Bargain hunters can find everything from fine furniture to used petrol pumps.

The area is also the home of the Il Balon antiques market every Saturday, held in the alleys north of the same square, between Corso Regina Margherita and the Dora River, while every morning until about noon, the square is filled with the cries and smells of the city's main food and clothes market.
