The Woodford Folk Festival is a unique arts showcase, held over the New Year period. It focuses on artists living in Australia, but also features a generous gathering of special international guests, presenting over 2000 performers on numerous stages.

Visitors can also choose from a bewildering number of dance events, workshops, forums, street theatre, writers' and musicians' seminars, a film festival and competition, comedy sessions, acoustic jams, history forums, an entire children's festival and an Indigenous Murri Festival, not to mention late-night cabarets and spontaneous occurrences. It's one long and unmissable party, with a climax at the dawn of the New Year.

The details for the forthcoming Woodford Folk Festival are released in late October, but you can gauge the quality from 2007/2008's line-up, which included Celtic band Shooglenifty, pipe-playing That 1 Guy, Canadian rock singer Hawksley Workman, French museum TeTe, ska group Babylon Circus and ethnomusicologist Bob Brozman.
Event details can change.
Please check with the organisers that the event is happening before making travel arrangements.
