Jam Jools Holland-style in the Jewellery Quarter, sip cocktails in Summer Row or party hard on Broad Street.
For some locals, Broad Street is the hub of Birmingham nightlife. Join young crowds and hop between vodka bars, Irish pubs and heaving clubs.
Fast becoming Birmingham’s trendiest nightspot, Summer Row, just outside the Jewellery Quarter, offers trendy themed bars that recreate New York chic and après ski-style partying. Come here if you’re looking to avoid the noisier crowds on Broad Street.
Enjoy a pint in one of the Jewellery Quarter’s taverns before heading to the jewel in the district’s crown: The Jam House in St. Paul’s Square. This converted three-storey Georgian house, supported by Jools Holland, gets crowds going with lively jazz and blues performances.
Hurst Street is the life and soul of Birmingham’s gay scene, pulsating with cabaret nights, funky bars and hardcore clubs. Located in the Chinese Quarter near the Hippodrome, this road also hosts the city’s annual Gay Pride carnival.
For late-night transport, hail an official Black Cab (T.O.A Taxis) or go to one of the official taxi ranks at New Street Station, Stephenson Street and Digbeth Coach Station.
Listen to Superstar by Birmingham-bred Jamelia whilst strutting alongside Broad Street’s ‘Walk of Stars’, a line of Hollywood-style celebrity paving slabs. Rock out to Paranoid by Brummie band Black Sabbath at one of the city’s lively pubs. Cruise the Birmingham canals to The Riverboat Song by local band Ocean Colour Scene, who originally wrote the track about Moseley.
