Bucharest - Food & Drink

Eat Romanian meat rolls in a rustic atmosphere, or pick from international menus ranging from very basic to truly posh.

Romantic: Lipscani

Sit outside a small bistro on one of Lipscani's lanes and you'll understand where Bucharest's ‘Little Paris' label comes from. Sample succulent meat rolls in restaurants where fruity local white wine flows aplently.

Varied: Piata George Enescu

Discover some of Bucharest's best restaurants in the side streets surrounding Piata George Enescu. Choose from traditional Romanian eateries, sophisticated French-inspired places and the stylish bistros popular with young Bucharestis.

Genteel: Sos Kiseleff

Mingle with Bucharest's high-heeled in the upmarket restaurants off Sos Kiselef Boulevard. The decor is sumptuous, the cuisine exquisite, the smart waiters' service impeccable.

Dining Tips

If you feel peckish during the day, follow the tempting scent of Bucharest's street bakeries – there's one on almost every corner. After dinner, do as Romanians do and sip strong coffee in a late-night café. Restaurants are usually open from 9am to 11pm and a tip of 5-10% is expected.
