Shopping Streets
Pick up one-of-a-kind prizes in Professor Street in the funky Tremont
District, where you'll find unique shops such as the Azure Stained Glass Studio.
Ohio City's West 25th Street is chock-a-block with shops; many of them are
gathered in the historic West Side Market, a foodie's heaven. Little Italy's
Mayfield and Murray Hill roads feature a number of fine vintage
clothing shops, like Sera Bella, as well as designer boutiques. For antiques, check
out Lorain Avenue, also in Ohio City.
West Side Market is a mecca for foodies, with more than 100 stalls and shops
in a historic Byzantine Revival building. Chinatown Market in Asian Plaza (on
the eastern edge of the Quadrangle District) has fresh Asian produce and
ingredients. Summer bargain hunters roam the aisles at the Open Air in Market
Square in Ohio City.
Avoid the malls on weekends. Standard shopping hours are Monday-Saturday 10am-5pm,
with many places open later on Fridays and closed on Sundays. Markets open weekends
and some week days.
