From techno-pumping clubs and glitzy cocktail bars to sweaty music venues and late-night cafés, Frankfurt's centre has it all. Dance the night away in true Frankfurt style – in the elegant upper-floor clubs of the city's high-rise skyscrapers.

Alt-Sachsenhausen, south of the river, is the place to enjoy apple wine. Take your pick from the array of taverns and beer gardens, clustering around the lively Schweizer Strasse, or lean back at one of the area's live music venues. The refreshing stuff comes to your table in large earthenware jugs, or Bembel.

Frankfurt's north comes alive at night, when the area's music bars, bistros and late-night cafés open their doors for the young, up-for-it crowd that lives and parties here. Look no further for a fun night out.

Most bars are open until 1am during the week, and into the early hours on weekends. In the summer, many venues set up outdoor beach clubs, complete with sand, barbecues and volleyball tournaments.
