Find your own escape from Milan's pulsating beat. Lose yourself in
breathtaking art or come face-to-face with Milan's passion (after fashion)
at San Siro football stadium.
Leave the buzz of the centre for canalside bars and markets in Navigli and
Ticinese districts. Visit the beautiful church of San Lorenzo and
eclectic collection of art and weaponry at the Poldi Pezzoli Museum, museum-home
of Gian Giacomo Poldi Pezzoli.
Pay tribute to Milan's patron saint at the Basilica of Saint Ambrose or
get football tickets for Milan's other quasi-religious site, the San Siro
Stadium. If you seek tranquillity, find it at Milan's Aquarium,
or in the city park Giardini Pubblici.
Strange but True
Want to see the Archbishop of Milan climb towards a high ceiling in a wobbly basket?
Inside the Duomo dangles a cross containing a nail allegedly from Christ's
cross. Every September, the archbishop floats up to it on a mechanical cloud (the
basket) to display it to the adoring crowd below.
