reveal.
The Montreal Biodôme is an excellent indoor destination for a wet or wintry day.
It houses four ecosystems containing 4000 animals and 5000 plants. Bike or rollerblade
along Montreal's waterfront to the Lachine Canal, built in 1825 so ships
could avoid the Lachine Rapids. Once you're there you can travel through
the locks or ride the rapids. Take a stroll through the 30 themed gardens of the
Montreal Botanical Garden. At the Montreal History Centre learn more
about Canada's first major city, which developed around the fur trade and
shipping.
Strange but True
One of Canada's classic tourism exports is maple syrup, tapped from
indigenous trees. At Canadian Maple Delights you can buy it with waffles and
pancakes along with strange variations such as mustards and vinaigrettes.
