Buy crystal champagne flutes at Celetná Crystal, take home a traditional
wooden puppet, and indulge yourself with Czech absinthe or garnet jewellery.
Shopping Streets
Shop for designer labels on fashionable Parízská, or get
dressed for less at department stores along Na Príkope and
Wenceslas Square, home to Czech shoe retailer Bata. Seek out souvenirs at
shops like Manufaktura and Botanicus near the Old Town Square.
Prague’s open-air markets operate most days, though some smaller ones pack
up on Sunday. The Havelská market, north of Wenceslas Square, has an
abundance of touristy knick-knacks for sale, as well as paintings by local artists
and fresh fruit and vegetables. Haggle over souvenirs, T-shirts and beer mugs at the
crowded stalls of the western end of the Old Town Square.
Start early in the morning to avoid the crowds. Standard shopping hours are Monday to
Saturday 10am-8pm (some shops close earlier on Saturday). Bigger stores and souvenir
outlets often open on Sundays.
