Méribel - Food & Drink

Think diot sausages, Beaufort cheese and the famous omelette Savoyard (local ham, mushrooms and Beaufort cheese).

The local ale is the ludicrously strong but eminently drinkable Miitzig – consider yourself warned. Shots of toffee vodka are ever-popular. Tartiflette – a heady mix of Beaufort and Reblochon cheese, potatoes and lardoons – makes an epic lunch. It can usually only be digested with a usually complimentary shot of Marc de Savoie or Genepi, the fierce local spirits.

Mountain Lunches

Check out ancient stone Les Crêtes for the best high-altitude terrace, famous for omelette Savoyard and Tarte Citron. Just above the main resort and easily accessible for non-skiers is the decadent Adray Télébar.

Evening Meals

The best restaurant for traditional Savoyard food is the Fromagerie. Meanwhile, Chez Kiki is a steak-lovers’ haven, and the Marie Blanche specialises in seafood. There's even a Pizza Express. Try the cellar restaurant of nostalgic Au Temps Perdu in Mottaret.

Afternoon Beers

Live music, hot dogs and cold beers on the slopeside terrace of Rond Point is a Méribel institution. At resort level, Jacks is ever-popular, and in Mottaret head for Downtown.

Late-Night Cocktails

If you are in Dicks Tea Bar at 4am you know things have gone sweetly wrong, but all roads tend to lead here. Kick things off with toffee vodka at Le Pub or a couple of pints of Miitzig at the Taverne. Otherwise, Rastros is still the liveliest bar in Mottaret.
