where:Teatro Regio

Parma celebrates its most famous citizen, Giuseppe Verdi, with a month-long festival of operas and concerts held at the Teatro Regio and smaller venues around the city. Every day the Verdi Festival offers one of Verdi's masterpieces.

Past programmes have featured Joan of Arc, Rigoletto Il Corsaro and Nabucco, all performed by the Orchestra del Teatro Regio di Parma. There are also events such as "Il Gioco dell'Opera", an introduction to opera for the little ones, and "Voci Verdiane", a competition for up-and-coming artists.

The Teatro Regio website publishes the 2009 programme details as soon as they are confirmed.
