The National Gallery of Canada in Ottawa is an art museum of international stature and a Canadian cultural gem.

The gallery has extensive collections of Canadian, European and American art dating from the 16th century to the present day, including painting, prints, sculpture, drawings and photographs, as well as an interesting collection of Inuit art created by natives of the Northwest Territories.

The gallery presents a full and varied programme of temporary exhibitions as well as hosting lectures and workshops.

Directions:From highway 417, take the Metcalfe exit. Follow Metcalfe St around the Museum of Nature and continue north-bound until you reach the end of the street at Wellington. You can see Parliament Hill. Turn right onto Wellington St and continue in the left-hand lane until you reach Sussex Drive. As you approach Sussex Drive, you can see the Chateau Laurier hotel on your left-hand side. Make a left turn onto Sussex Drive and continue until you see the gallery, a large glass building with two octagonal towers, to your left, at the corner of St Patrick and Sussex. Just beyond the St Patrick/Sussex intersection is the left-turn lane to enter the gallery's underground parking.
