Corpus Christi
Corpus Christi is celebrated throughout Lanzarote, but the best place to join in is Arrecife. On the Saturday, locals make alfombras de sal (sea salt carpets) in elaborate and colourful designs along the pavements and roads around San Ginés Church.
On fiesta day itself (Thursday), people head to the Church of San Ginés for a Mass honouring the Eucharist, symbolic of the Last Supper.
