| An island across from the Manteo waterfront. Its aim is to make history come alive for visitors - attractions include a 16th-century ship, an interactive museum and a range of performing and visual arts. | |
| Directions: | Between the North Carolina mainland and the Outer Banks. From North Carolina: follow US 64 East to Manteo. Turn left after crossing the Virginia Dare Bridge. This will take you into the town of Manteo. Once in town, turn right on Budleigh Street. At the end of Budleigh - turn left. Turn right at Tranquil House Inn and cross the short bridge to the park. From Washington, DC / Richmond, VA: follow I-64 through the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel (a busy route on weekends) to Great Bridge, VA. Go south on VA-168 to US-158 East at Barco, NC. Follow US-158 to the Outer Banks. |
