Banff Summer Arts Festival
Banff's Summer Arts Festival celebrates music, dance, films, opera, visual and literary arts and new media, with artists from Alberta and beyond. The Banff Centre hosts over 150 events, from jazz to opera, world-class concerts and casual afternoon recitals.
Highlights in 2009 include performances by jazz great Joshua Redman, superstar soprano Tracy Dahl, a rare remount of Hans van Manen's contemporary ballet Grosse Fugue, and a new adaptation of Leos Janacek's The Cunning Little Vixen.

| Directions: | The trip from Calgary International Airport to Banff is well-signposted and takes approximately 1.5 hours. Leave the airport via Barlow Trail (head towards Calgary City Centre). Take 16th Ave West exit, turn right onto 16th Ave W and remain on it through Calgary, until it becomes the Trans-Canada Highway #1. Continue to head west and take the first exit to Banff. Take a left hand turn at the base of this exit ramp. Follow this road (Banff Ave) into the town. Continue until Wolf St, turn left and continue until the T-junction. Turn right onto St Julien Road, which leads directly into The Banff Centre. |
