More than 150 separate events are laid on throughout the city during the huge Tampere Floral Festival. It's not just about flowers, however, there's also music, food and drink as well as cultural and arts events attracting thousands of visitors.
Tampere city centre is decked out with thousands of floral arrangements and collections. Children play traditional outdoor games in the historic Amuri workers' quarter, the city offers tours and exhibitions and the Programme Tent in Central Square offers live Finnish music. The Floral Rock Event winds up the festival, presenting a broad cross-section of top names from Finnish pop and rock music.
