when:Jun - Jul 2010 (annual)
where:Alhambra

The International Festival of Music and Dance is held in the exquisite setting of Granada's Alhambra, the Generalife Gardens, monasteries and the cathedral. It should have any sensible music enthusiast booking the first available plane for Southern Spain.

Around the Alhambra and all over the city the streets are filled with the sound of Spanish guitars, the click of castanets, the whirl of flamenco dancing and much, much more.

The programme usually features about 40 shows. As well as the larger concerts in the Alhambra, there are performances in civic centres, chapels, churches, cafés and clubs throughout the city, which range from small classical ensembles to jazz and world music.

The festival website releases full details of the programme as soon as they are available.
