National Mud Festival of Wales

when:Sep 2010 (annual)
where:National Wetlands Centre Wales
time:Daily 9.30am-5pm

Have fun getting muddy during the annual National Mud Festival of Wales, held each year at the National Wetlands Centre Wales in Llanelli.

The Mud Walk involves a trip down to the estuary at low-tide to explore the wildlife at the water's edge. Fun and games include the Wellie Wanging Competition and a Tug-of-War, also known as the Mud-of-War.

Visitors can get creative making mud sculptures, a mud hut or even (edible) mud pies.

When you've had enough of mud, take a look around the centre, which is home to many birds, including ducks, geese, swans and flamingos.
