Rimini celebrates Christmas and New Year with a month-long programme of events that includes concerts, live opera and theatre performances, art exhibitions and skating shows. The unveiling of the sand Christmas crib on Piazzale Kennedy kicks off the festive season.
Celebrations take place all over the city, including the Surgeon's Domus in Rimini's archaeological site, Palazzetto Flaminio, which usually stages a skating show, and Piazzale Fellini, which hosts the biggest of all parties on 31 December. Opera lovers can catch performances at the Auditorium Palacongressi.
