The Kentucky Derby Festival's oldest event, the Pegasus Parade first took place in 1956. It features floats, marching bands and inflatable characters, but the highlights for many are the equestrian units from across the country.
With prizes on offer for the bands and horse sections, the Pegasus Parade is guaranteed to be spectacular, and last year over a quarter of a million people lined Broadway to cheer the participants along.
