The Sonoma-Marin County Fair at the Petaluma Fairgrounds combines traditional activities with unusual events and competitions. This eccentric mix makes it a popular day out with San Franciscans and tourists alike.
As well as the livestock shows, carnival rides and live music that you might expect at such an event, this fair provides something a little extra. Marvel at the sheer spectacle of the World's Ugliest Dog Competition, which entices contestants from all over the US to tough it out for the coveted title, or the Lucha Libre Latino wrestling.
All events and entertainment are free with gate admission, except for the bone-crunching Destruction Derby.
