Torremolinos celebrates local cuisine with the Día del Pescaíto (Fried Fish Day) on La Carihuela beach when, for once, there is such a thing as a free lunch. Thousands feast on fried anchovies (boquerones), squid rings (calamares), sardines and paella.
The fishy treats are fresh, delicious and served free of charge with chilled beer. What more do you need? If you're in Torremolinos around this time, forget the touristy restaurants serving fish and chip suppers and try some real local food.
