Wieliczka Salt Festival

when:Jun 2010 (annual)
where:Krakow Salt Mine Museum

Add a bit of flavour to your holiday at the Wieliczka Salt Festival, an event devoted to the most common of all condiments. The 700-year-old Krakow Salt Mine Museum hosts concerts, exhibitions and workshops about salt-production methods in Poland.

The event takes a historical look at salt-mining in Poland with interactive fun for adults and children alike. In the past, events have included tasting-sessions of medieval dishes, abseiling down the castle tower in the style of former salt-miners, and performances from the Wieliczka Mining Orchestra.
