The Last Cigarette
Simon Gray's last play, finished just before Gray's death last summer, draws on his autobiographical writings. The Last Cigarette, where Felicity Kendal, Nicholas Le Prevost and Jasper Britton all play Gray, comes into the Trafalgar Studios direct form Chichester.
Directed by Richard Eyre, The Last Cigarette is the last in a long line of Gray plays to grace the West End, and was adapted with the collaboration of fellow playwright Hugh Whitemore.
Always unrepentant about his smoking and showing his courage in the face of not one but two cancers, Gray is celebrated by three great actors. It might be self evident, but this is not a play for anti-smokers!
