Every spring, the lakefront in Grant Park is packed with blues fans for the Chicago Blues Festival. Past headliners have included the legendary blues guitarist BB King.
The big names appear in the Petrillo Music Shell at Jackson and Columbus, but performances also take place spread across six other stages.
The main attractions of the festival for many are the sideshows alongside Grant Park, where you might see a big name stop by for an impromptu performance, or a future star giving a jaw-dropping set on a makeshift stage.
At night, the festival carries on in clubs all around the city, from the more well-known and well-heeled venues to the downtown spit-and-sawdust bars where you find the real Chicago blues experience.
Details of the are posted on the festival website from April.
