Pride London
The Pride march has firmly established itself in London and is the biggest event in the UK gay diary. The carnival atmosphere transforms central London with a flamboyant parade of floats representing the full force of Great Britain's GLBT community.
A humble little gathering has flowered into a parade attracting as many as 825,000 from all over Britain and the rest of Europe. The parade usually assembles in the Hyde Park area then passes down Oxford Street and Regent Street before a Pride Rally is held in Trafalgar Square.
While much of the focus on Pride is directed towards the parade itself, a supplementary programme of events surrounds it and clubs and bars throughout London's sprawling gay districts host a varied programme of parties and special club nights.
