This lakeside house and garden displays the work of 20th-century Czech-American sculptor Albin Polasek, who produced his figurative work in the heyday of Modernism. Visitors are invited to stroll the grounds, gallery and studio and study the works on display.
Albin Polasek (1879-1965) arrived in the United States in 1901 as a Moravian immigrant and worked as a woodcarver. Student success at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts led to a three-year residence at the American Academy in Rome. He spent the bulk of his career at the Art Institute of Chicago, becoming Director of Sculpture.
Please note that galleries and the historic home are closed from July to September.
