Deepak Chopra is probably best known for penning over 25 best-selling books and tirelessly speaking on the international self-development circuit. He often graces TV screens dispensing his ways and means to reach nirvana. Popular titles of his tomes include Ageless Body, Timeless Mind and How to Know God: The Soul's Journey into the Mystery of Mysteries. His main tenets are mind-body meditation, Ayurvedic healing (an ancient system of healing from South India) and understanding diet and health.

Along the way, Chopra also managed to found a Centre that practises what he preaches: looking after the mind, body and soul in a variety of innovative ways. The mind is cultivated through an amazingly comprehensive repertoire of courses and seminars (such as Ayurvedic Cooking & Nutrition or Primordial Sound Meditation), the body through visits to the Day Spa. Every day there's a lot going on.

Differently priced packages will give you a different menu of treatments at the Spa - the cheapest half day solution going for $195. Don't expect the usual raft of holistic treatments, Chopra is all about Ayurveda: Panchakarma massage therapy, Yoga, Organic vegetarian meals, aromatherapy, emotional cleansing and processing, meditation, movement and art therapy.
