Super Bock Super Rock
Named after the Portuguese beer that sponsors it, Super Bock Super Rock is a major rock festival in Lisbon's music calendar and attracts prominent international bands. The festival site is at the west end of the Vasco da Gama Bridge.
The event takes place over two weekends, kicking off on the first Sunday with hard rocking headliners Metallica, Joe Satriani and Stone Sour. Five days later Arcade Fire, Bloc Party and Magic Numbers top the bill, while on the Saturday LCD Soundsystem, The Jesus & Mary Chain and Maximo Park headline. The festival closes on the second Sunday with Underworld, Interpol and Scissor Sisters.
There is free camping in the Sacavenense Sports Stadium for four-day ticket holders.
