Hurricane Festival
Leading German summer rock event the Hurrican Festival, takes place at a speedway track near Scheeßel. The big names in 2009 are Kings of Leon, Die Ärzte and Faith No More.
The eclectic line-up features techno pop legends Kraftwerk, savvy singer Lily Allen, good-time rock 'n' rollers Eagles of Death Metal and soulful vocalist Duffy. Wiry pop quartet Franz Ferdinand also appear as well as neo prog rockers The Mars Volta.
The event features two main stages as well as a party tent, bungee jumping and a campsite close by.
