Boston's annual film festival traditionally launches the autumn film season in the city. The festival screens a typically eclectic selection including documentaries and independent American features as well as international cinema. Events and panel discussions are part of the programme.
In the past Boston Film Festival has premièred films such as Reservoir Dogs, The Piano, Swingers and Wings of the Dove. Directors and actors who have appeared include Jodie Foster, Robert Duvall, Al Pacino and Vanessa Redgrave, among many others.
