Aloha Festivals: Lana'i

Parade at the Aloha Festival. Courtesy of Aloha Festivals

when:Sep 2010 (annual)
where:Lana`i
time:3.30pm-6.30pm

Lana'i is always full of life and colour - but it's even busier during the annual Aloha Festival. The Aloha Festivals are Hawaii's largest and have developed over the past 50 years into the USA's only state-wide celebration.

Aloha Festivals honour Hawaii's cosmopolitan heritage and diverse cultural influences and are still run by an army of volunteers.

During the Aloha Festival in Lana'i you can enjoy a home-style parade, Ho'olaule'a (expect hula dancers and loads of garlands), evening street dancing, an Aloha Beach Day and a host of cultural programmes and events.
