Israel Festival
The acclaimed Israel Festival of music and performing arts is the year's most important gathering for dance, opera, classical, contemporary, jazz and world music. First held in 1961, it creates a cultural harmony that belies the international headlines on the country's political situation.
The festival features a selection of the world's most exciting performing arts productions as well as the best of Israel's own talents - reflecting the country's cultural diversity. Guests in previous years have included the Maurice Bejart Ballet Company, Archaos' cutting-edge circus troupe, Pablo Casals, Charly Haden and the Vienna State Opera.
