when:Jul 2010 (annual)
where:Cathédral de Noyon
cost:Free
time:9am-7pm

Since the 10th century, Noyon has been the centre of a healthy trade in cherries and blackcurrants, which are brought to market by local fruit farmers for a day of tasting and fun. The event takes place around the cathedral.

Each producer's stall groans with red fruit including strawberries, raspberries, red, white and blackcurrants, loganberries and cherries. A prize is awarded for the most spectacular display, which are always created around a particular theme.

In addition to the sale of fresh fruit, jam, syrup, fruit coulis and compotes, which are guaranteed to have everyone licking their lips all day, the 20,000 people are also entertained by street performers, circus acts and musicians.
